01 / UNDERSTANDING
Learning objectives
Cover payment direction, collect requests, account verification and credential protection through clearly described app-screen scenarios. Ask what the next button authorises before interpreting the stranger's story. Your practical tasks are to read the action and payment direction onscreen and verify receipt in your own account record. These conceptual objectives are a study framework, not an official question allocation. Demonstrate the distinction with a fresh worked case, including the assumptions that make the answer valid.
02 / UNDERSTANDING
The concept in context
Digital-payment safety requires reading what an app action authorises, including the recipient and direction of funds. A request framed as receiving money can conceal an instruction to approve a payment or disclose authentication information. Read the on-screen action rather than relying on a stranger’s explanation of a QR code or request.
03 / UNDERSTANDING
A worked learning case
A fictional buyer offers to pay for a used chair but asks the seller to scan a QR code and enter a PIN to receive the money. The seller stops and checks the request through the payment app’s official guidance. The screen’s payment direction matters more than the buyer’s story, and a receipt should be verified in the account itself.
ORIGINAL EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE
Try it before you check.
Which evidence is more reliable than the buyer’s claim that money has arrived?
Show the answer and reasoning
The recipient’s own verified account or payment-app transaction record.
A message or screenshot supplied by the buyer can be misleading. Checking the seller’s own account record independently verifies whether the credit exists and avoids treating the stranger’s instructions as proof. The seller should also understand any authorisation screen before acting and protect the PIN rather than entering it to satisfy a caller.
Two traps to watch for.
- Entering a PIN because a stranger says it is needed to receive funds.
- Accepting another person’s screenshot as proof of an account credit.
